Provider Scheduling Specialist /Pre-Authorization Clerk We have a full time position available in our Specialty Clinics as a provider scheduling specialist/pre-authorization clerk. The Provider Scheduling Specialist performs a variety of business office, reception, and provider scheduling duties accurately and with minimal supervision. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to: scheduling all provider time off requests; updating and signing off of provider time cards in API; arranging all providers satellite clinic locations/procedures/ transportation/schedules and maintaining up to date on-call schedules for each specialty. The Pre-Authorization Clerk is responsible for verification of insurance benefit levels and patient pay obligations. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to: obtaining insurance authorizations for required infusions, procedures and clinic visits. Monitoring insurance verification dates and obtaining new authorization as required. Must have a two year associate degree in business/office administration or medical administration. Additional directly related work experience may substitute for the education requirement on a year-for-year basis. Would like to see at least 3 years office support, healthcare or clerical work experience. Knowledge of medical terminology and medical records storage/release of information.
