Summary
Under general supervision, works on problems of moderate scope, applies company policies and procedures to resolve a variety of issues and activities for processing customer orders. Responsible for data entry and processing of internal orders. Demonstrates an understanding of a minimum of three operating systems as defined by the customer order specifications and a basic understanding of Level 3 products and their ordering specifications. Validates order information provided for customer orders by ensuring all relevant information is contained in the order to issue an access service request. Issues and manages DS1/DS3 single and multiple vendor customer orders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of service. Understands and implements offnet ordering instructions from the design team. Follows up on all pending offnet orders to ensure receipt of firm order commitments and design layout reports from the vendor. Drives vendor escalations to first level to drive Firm Order Commitment/Design Layout Record (FOC/DLR).
Essential Duties
*Performs data entry to process customer orders within a minimum of three operating systems (internal and/or external). Updates all system notes to ensure latest order status is accurately reflected in the orders systems.
*Manages individual daily workload in alignment with revenue commitments and objective targets across multiple orders, systems, and processes.
*Validates orders for information accuracy based on internal company product ordering specifications. Validates customer premise addresses on the vendor websites.
*Performs other related duties and tasks as assigned or as required.
*Communicates clearly and concisely with internal business partners. Contributes to team meetings and provides lessons learned.
*Assists other internal departments with system/task inquiries and/or processes.
*Owns and resolves all issues or related problematic activities against assigned orders.
Education and Experience
* Experience: 2+ yrs
* Education Level: High School/GED
* Field Of Study: Telecommunications
* A combination of education and experience is acceptable.
Knowledge, Skills or Abilities
2 years related telecommunications or related provisioning experience
Must have an understanding of telecom service orders and a basic understanding of vendor order requirements
Ability to multi-task, adhere to multiple processes, and demonstrate a high degree of accuracy
Organizational and problem-solving skills
Adapts and thrives in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment
Ability to manage multiple orders/systems.
Ability to facilitate issues to resolution
Demonstrated effectiveness in escalations/urgent-related matters
Basic knowledge of Level 3 products
Basic knowledge of Microsoft applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Ability to work overtime as necessary
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Attentive to detail and accuracy
Energetic, positive, and customer-focused attitude
Team oriented - ability to work well with others in a professional environment
Strong typing skills - preferred 40 wpm
Work Environment
Sits five to seven hours per day. Stands and or walks one to three hours per day. May bend, reach, stoop and crouch throughout the day. Should have the ability to hear, speak and see effectively to perform the necessary tasks of this position. Manual dexterity is occasionally required. The position may require frequent movement and activity relating to using keyboards, viewing data on computer displays, and communicating verbally and in writing to the needs of others. The employee-owner may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Working Conditions: Work is performed in an office environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions.
