About the Job
Purchasing Agent Local manufacturing company is seeking a Purchasing Agent to coordinate procurement of components, services and raw materials for its operation. Primary responsibilities include, but not limited to: Select vendors, assess vendor capabilities, develop alternate sources, evaluate vendor performance, and negotiate price and delivery. Recommend major purchases of materials based on anticipated changes in prices or unusual availability situations. Assure that department records are maintained and that purchases are followed up or expedited when required. Department records include price histories to provide information on variances. Sourcing of strategies that drive cost reduction and process improvement with the department and throughout the company. Salary and benefits based on experience and qualifications. Qualified person should have four to six years of purchasing or related experience, preferably with a manufacturing background.
