This post commences in December 2011 (Ideally although a delayed start may be negotiated due to completing your registration) and the successful candidate will be working under the direction and supervision of a Senior Medical Officer. You will be required to undertake assessments, make diagnoses and develop treatment and management plans in consultation with the patient and family.

This facility services a large population and is located on the North Island of New Zealand. The North Island is the smaller of the two main islands of New Zealand, and as its name indicates, is the northern-most of the two islands. Its northern location means it enjoys a warmer, more temperate climate than much of the South Island, and is much more vastly populated. This stunning region is known for its fresh seasonal produce, local wineries, stunning landscapes, picturesque coastline and laid-back lifestyle.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Psychiatry registrar to continue their career in a well known facility on New Zealand’s beautiful North Island.

Selection Criteria: -
To be considered for this opportunity you will have the following:-

• MBBS
• A minimum of two years experience in general psychiatry at registrar level
• Hold current registration or be eligible for registration with Medical Council of New Zealand.
• Practiced for the last 36 out of 48 months with full/general registration in a comparable healthcare country. Comparable countries include – UK, Ireland, Australia, Canada or USA – for a full list see www.mcnz.org.nz
• You are required to sit the IELTS (International English Language Testing System) test, if you are an international medical graduate from a country where English is NOT a native or first language.
