Psychology/Education Educator Job in Medford, Massachusetts US

The School Psychology Program in the Tufts University Department of Education seeks qualified candidates for the position(s) of part-time lecturer, to teach two courses in Fall 2012.  The successful candidate(s) will be hired to teach one or both courses:

 

Social, Emotional, and Behavioral Assessment in Children and Adolescents  

This course is the third in a four-course sequence of assessment in school psychology and introduces students to comprehensive assessment of children’s social and adaptive development and behavior problems in the context of a problem-solving framework. 

 

Qualifications:

Doctorate and successful experience of university teaching in the area are preferred.  The successful candidate should have a broad knowledge of multidimensional assessment (interviews, observation techniques, behavior rating scales, FBA, and social developmental analysis) and an understanding of current research, theories, and issues in best practices in assessment and intervention.  A working knowledge of the legal and ethical issues surrounding assessment and educational planning, including the complex social and educational factors associated with cultural and linguistic diversity, is also required.  The course is open to graduate students in school psychology and child development.

 

Foundations and Contemporary Practices in Psychoeducational Assessment

This course explores academic assessment of children in the context of a problem-solving framework. The successful candidate should have a broad knowledge of: measurement statistics and the principles of psychoeducational test construction; administration and interpretation of formal and informal measures of academic achievement; integrating assessment with school-based intervention.  

 

Qualifications:
