At Citi Australia, our Corporate Affairs division is responsible for (but not limited to) media relations (online and traditional), division-wide internal communication, community relations and social media.
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Affairs, Australia and New Zealand, the role of Public Relations Manager is to support the development of communication strategies and their implementation for Citi in Australia and New Zealand. The range of business stakeholders includes a leading retail bank, corporate bank including transaction services, MA and capital markets advisory business, and a global markets business which covers equities, fixed income, currencies and commodities.
Your key accountabilities will include:
- Working with our Public Affairs Officer to develop and execute communication strategies for the businesses.
- Drafting, executing and evaluating proactive individual communication plans for each business. This includes thought leadership initiatives for the firm and promotion of products and services.
- Identify and manage communication for issues that may impact a broad number of clients/customers or appear in the media including crisis scenarios
- Monitoring and managing to specific budgets
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications
- Extensive experience in media, PR agency or in-house communications experience with strong understanding of how the media works and editorial news value
- Outstanding writing and editing skills and ability to create effective speeches and presentations
- Demonstrated knowledge of the financial services industry local and global media; Understanding of macroeconomic indicators and business goals, strategies and financial results.
- Proven track record with managing multiple projects with competing needs and be detail oriented and deadline driven
- Strong ability to influence senior stakeholders and peers.
