The Department / Team
The Regulatory team are heavily involved in the development and maintenance of relationships with regulators and policy makers globally . The team is involved in drafting responses to legislative and regulatory initiatives, drafting speeches and presentations relating to regulatory developments, monitoring regulatory developments, and analyzing regulatory frameworks in jurisdictions where Moody’s Investor Services is or is considering carrying on business.
Role/Responsibilities:
This is a very entrepreneurial role which will offer someone a real opportunity to make a genuine difference and assist in ensuring that Moody’s in positioning itself with public sector authorities, crafting appropriate messages, and communicating those messages. We are currently experiencing significant change in the regulatory market so you will be involved in managing some highly sensitive work that will have significant impact in the financial markets. You will be required to work at senior level and will be responsible for;
• Brainstorming on new ways to improve internal flows of information / knowledge sharing
• Crafting messages to more effectively communicate Moody’s positions to outside constitutents
• Manage the firms public policy communications efforts both externally and internally
• Possibly positioning as a spokesperson.
Qualifications / Additional Information
- Educated to Degree level in Law, public policy or public relations.
- Substantial experience in financial journalism and or PR
- Other than English, a working knowledge of another European, Asian or Latin American language would be a plus but not essential.
- A keen interest in public policy particularly as it relates to financial markets and the economics of financial regulation.
- Excellent inter-personal skills and a demonstrated ability to interact effectively, internally and externally
- Excellent written skills, with a particular emphasis of distilling complicated ideas into simple messages
- Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks with shifting deadlines and priorities under limited supervision
- Willingness to travel as required in the EU and more broadly.
