Public Sector BAO: Content Analytics System Programmer Job in Washington/Metro 20059, District Of Columbia US
Job description
The Public Sector BAO System Programmer will be responsible for installing, customizing and monitoring IBM Content Analytics on AIX. The System Programmer will also travel to customer sites, work with IT staff to set up servers and install the product in secure environments, potentially with high availability and disaster recovery requirements. In addition, the System Programmer will be responsible for platform-specific performance tuning and post implementation support
Consultants will be located in an IBM office in the metropolitan area or at an IBM client site.
Generally projects and clients are within the Metro area and require very limited travel outside of the local area. However, some projects do require up to 100% travel for an extended period of time that is generally less than 1 year. Consultants are required to be flexible with their ability to travel and cannot refuse projects due to travel.

Required
- High School Diploma/GED
- At least 5 years experience in AIX Enterprise System Programming
- At least 5 years experience in Enterprise Software installation
- At least 5 years experience in working with High Availability and Disaster Recovery environments
- At least 5 years experience in system performance monitoring and tuning
- Readiness to travel Up to 5 days a week (home on weekends-based on project requirements)
- U.S. citizenship required
- English: Fluent
Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree
- At least 10 years experience in AIX Enterprise System Programming
- At least 10 years experience in Enterprise Software installation
- At least 10 years experience in working with High Availability and Disaster Recovery environments
- At least 10 years experience in system performance monitoring and tuning
- At least 10 years experience in network administration
