The Company serves acute care hospitals, long term acute care hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, rehabilitation facilities, hospice centers and home care patients.
We are seeking an experienced Purchasing Agent in our Louisville Corporate Office
This position reports to the Sr. Purchasing Agent and will be responsible for assisting the Sr. Purchasing Agent in procurement and purchasing activities for the company. Utilize standard purchasing forms, bid requests, material requisitions, logs, and trend reports. A high degree of professinal integrity, ethics and confidentiality is required.
- Track and monitor supplier delivery performance for timing, quanity and quality.
- Assist as needed in negotiating pricing, delivery, discounts and terms with suppliers and transportation carriers.
- Issue purchase ordres to selected suppliers via e-mail / web / phone / fax.
- Actively monitor all open PO's for on time deliveries and follow up with supplies when expected ship dates are not achieved.
- Communication of all delviery delays or back orders to customer service, sales, and warehouse operations personnel that are affected.
- Responsible for responding to price requests from the Contracts Department.
- Clearly and precisely documents the terms and conditions on all purchase orders
- Discuss defective or unacceptable goods and/or services with suppliers to determine source of trouble and corrective action.
- Work with Accounts Payble Department and suppliers on invoice discrepancies.
- Follows policies and procedures established by Inventory/Purchasing Manager.
- Maintain professionalism throughout all verbal and written communications with management, co-workers, suppliers, and customers.
- Perform related duties as assigned by supervision.

- Prefer at least 2 years experience using MSOffice, including, MSWord, Excel, and Outlook in a business setting.
