Purchasing Assistant Job in Houston 77008, Texas US
National Bronze Metals Inc is seeking a Purchasing Assistant for its office located in Houston, Texas. The ideal candidate must be able perform quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision, interact professionally with other employees, customers and suppliers, work effectively as a team contributor on all assignments and work independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
Responsibilities include:
§ Deal directly with local and overseas vendors
§ Prepare RFQs
§ Enter purchase orders into our system
§ Create maintain purchase order files to incorporate related documents
§ Prepare weekly follow ups with vendors to check status of open orders
§ Coordinate shipments with customs brokers and prepare relative documentation
§ Monitor and update all aspects of documentation for sailing schedules and vessel messages and communicate details to sales department
§ Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
§ 3-5 years in purchasing, prior metal procurement experience a plus
§ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, Word and Outlook
§ High school diploma or equivalent
§ Excellent Communication Skills
§ Attention to details and a strong commitment
