Inside Out Purchasing and Supply has been engaged by our Suffolk based client to recruit for a Purchasing Assistant.

Job summary
Management of the day to day purchasing function at the site,including maintenance of the supplier database and procurement of goods for production.
Working within a busy team environment, providing support to all departments within the company for their procurement requirements.

Main duties and responsibilities

Purchasing

1. Liaise with Production Planner to agree purchase requirements.
2. Produce purchase orders to be sent to suppliers - using MRP in Sage.
3. Place purchase orders with suppliers and maintain good relationships.
4. Progress purchase orders to ensure delivery dates are confirmed and monitored to ensure timely provision of supplies and appropriate pricing is used.
5. Checking supplier acknowledgements.
6. Manage imported goods through customs clearance.
7. To be responsible for the completion of new supplier account forms for the site.
8. Update pricing in Sage as and when required
9. Maintain supplier details within Sage.
10. Report on outstanding orders and their status.
11. Support finance in resolving queries relating to purchase orders.
12. Assist Purchasing Associate by providing procurement information where required.
13. Organise your own workload.
14. Advise finance team on any credit issues with supplier accounts, and forward any documentation to the Finance team in a timely manner.

General
To identify system improvements across all areas of the business.

Qualifications and experience required

A minimum of 2-3 years purchasing experience along with MRP and financial system experience is essential.
It is important that you are a good communicator who works well within a team and is keen to learn about the companies products and procedures.
Equally you must have good organisational skills and the ability to work in a methodical way.
