Purchasing Expeditor Job in Solon 44139, Ohio US

The Robbins Company is an international designer and manufacturer of tunnel boring machines and related equipment. We have an opportunity for a Purchasing Expeditor at our Solon, OH facility.  The Purchasing Expeditor will expedite purchase orders to ensure timely delivery of correct parts and continuously communicating updates to the Purchasing and Spare Parts staff.      

 

Essential Duties/Responsibilities: 

1.      Reviews Receiving reports daily.  Updates standard costs in MAS system, emails Shipping Dept that sales orders are ready to ship, and updates consignment spreadsheets for received goods.

2.      Updates shared customer computer files with sales order cross-reference and copy of customer order and sales order in files.

3.      Prints weekly parts expediting report and provides hard copy to Purchasing Agents.

4.      Verifies nomenclature and specifications of purchase requests.

5.      Searches inventory records or contacts warehouse to determine if material on hand is in sufficient quantity for orders and quotes.

6.      Compiles records of items purchased or transferred between departments, prices, deliveries, and inventories.

7.      Establishes relationships with vendors and internal manufacturing in order to effectively ensure on-time delivery of purchased and manufactured parts.  Further develops and uses tools required to track pending delivery dates and expedite as required. Confers with suppliers concerning late deliveries.

 

Qualifications:

·         Associate’s Degree in related field, or 5+ years purchasing experience

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

·         Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and creating/using spreadsheets.

·         Must be able to multi-task and handle changing priorities

·         Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and written.

·         Ability to work independently and accurately
