A superb opportunity has arisen for a Purchasing Manager to join our client, a leading manufacturer of electrical and mechanical components.
For this role, our client is looking for a supply chain professional from a low volume manufacturing environment to help source, negotiate and purchase all materials and services for their business.

As the Purchasing Manager, your key tasks will include:
- Creating purchasing orders, purchase requisitions and releases
- Following up with suppliers on late orders and expediting raw material deliveries to stock
- Leading on potential outsourcing activities
- Implementing approved cost reduction initiatives and supplier development activities
- Issuing supplier performance KPIs
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Supply chain experience gained within a multi-product, low volume manufacturing environment
- A proven track record of using ERP systems
- Strong Excel spreadsheet skills and Access database experience
- Knowledge of modern planning tools and systems, such as SAP or Sage
As a Purchasing Manager, you will need to be able to work under pressure whilst meeting agreed and often tight deadlines. Equally important are your strong problem solving skills and ability to initiate, sponsor and implement change.
Whilst not essential, a formal purchasing qualification would be beneficial to your application. Electro-mechanical component sourcing experience would also be an advantage.
