There is now an opportunity for a Purchasing Manager to join our Operations Team, focusing on ensuring that quality material is available on time and at budgeted cost.

Within the role of Purchasing Manager you will support your team of six Buyers and nine Stores Personnel, and will be responsible for:-

The activities of the Purchasing Department are crucial to achieving the Company's quality and OTIF standards and therefore the Business Plan.

Gilkes design, develop and manufacture at our site in Kendal, Lake District and employ over 150 people. We are an internationally established manufacturing company; with operations in the UK, USA and Japan. Since the company's first hydro turbine installation in 1856, we have supplied over 6500 turbines for more than 80 countries. Today, we are focused on the repair, remanufacture and sale of engine cooling pumps, pumping systems and hydropower products

To be successful in the role of Purchasing Manager you will be experienced of working within an Industrial Engineering environment and will have worked with suppliers to improve their unit cost and OTIF rates. You will be results orientated, customer focused and a man manager capable of further developing your team.
