Purchasing Manager Job in Woodbridge, Ontario Canada
Our client, a leader in locomotive propulsion systems equipment for Rail and Mass Transit Industries, is seeking a Procurement Manager to manage the organization’s Purchasing activities while ensuring high quality and cost control.
In this position, you will:
- Manage vendor relations including RFX process
- Manage vendor/contractor contracts, vendor master files and product/vendor rebids
- Supplier performance analysis regarding quality and delivery
- Continuously evaluate product options, quality, pricing, scheduling and vendor integrity to obtain goods and services at competitive prices
- Consult and communication with all levels of staff and management in regards to corporate procurement and ensure purchasing methods are in line with company policy/philosophy
- Staff management including providing opportunity for growth and learning
- Participate in management and organizational projects and initiatives
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Relevant post-secondary education, degree or diploma
- 7+ years experience in Purchasing including 3+ years in a leadership role within a technical manufacturing environment
- Strong business acumen
- Ability to work autonomously
- Exceptional negotiation, analytical, multi-tasking, organizational and communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of Visual Manufacturing and ability to interpolate reports
- Mechanical and/or electrical aptitude and the ability to read and understand component and subassembly drawings
- Solid understanding of metal properties and their processing methods, electrical products, controls and coatings
- Proficient with MS Office Suite and Maximizer
- PMAC designation preferred
