We are a global manufacturing company located in beautiful Florida! Due to recent expansion we are looking to hire a Purchasing Manager with a background in Aerospace / Defense, Energy, or Turbine (wind, gas or steam) manufacturing. You will be responsible for leading our outstanding team of buyers to support Manufacturing, Engineering and RD Operations. We need someone with strong work experience in a manufacturing and engineering environment.
What you will be doing!
- Daily leadership of an experienced team of buyers
- Corporate strategic planning and implementation
- Overall management of SAP systems
- Identify sources of supply for New Product Development
- Identify new suppliers in an effort to reduce costs and increase quality and service
- Manage inventory levels using lean manufacturing techniques
What you need to have!
- 8+ years Purchasing in Aerospace / Defense, Energy, or Turbine manufacturing
- 3+ years managing a team of buyers, purchasing agents and other staff
- 4 years Bachelor’s Degree, MBA a big plus
- Huge plus if you are a CPM or CPIM
- SAP, MRP/ERP systems experience
- Quality assurance methods in the manufacturing and outsourcing environment
- Warehousing methods and supply chain best practices
- Ability to read mechanical drawings
- Lean manufacturing
