Purchasing Officer – Lady Loretta
Lady Loretta is a green field site located 140 kilometres north of Mount Isa. The site is currently in a 2 year construction phase, followed by a 10 year mine life and is targeting high performance employees. The role is being offered Fly In, Fly Out from Brisbane, Cairns, Darwin, Gold Coast and Townsville or Drive In, Drive Out from Mount Isa.
The successful applicant will be exposed to and responsible for a range of procurement and supply functions. Key responsibilities will include: Promote Xstrata purchasing policies and procedures through continual coaching and mentoring of customers; Direct Charge, services and inventory purchasing for Lady Loretta; Commitment to the procurement of goods and services realising the best price, best lead time, and best quality philosophy; Ensuring the provision of appropriate logistics support including reliable and efficient transport services; Maintaining procurement and inventory management systems and Promote and display a high level of customer service orientation.
Ideally the applicant for this role will have: An excellent working knowledge of purchasing, inventory control, customer service, logistics and other related activities; Well developed problem solving skills; Excellent standards of accuracy and personal work standards; Possess high levels of initiative, motivation, teamwork and time management skills; An understanding of the use of MIMS Computer and keyboard skills and Excellent written, oral, interpersonal and communication skills.
