This engineering company is looking to recruit an Operations Manager with a large focus on Buying, Purchasing and Procurement.

For this role you must be/have;
• Three or more years experience within a similar role as a Buyer / Purchasing Manager.
• Basic understanding of Engineering principles and drawings.
• Competent in the utilization of computer systems - all Microsoft applications, BCPX, planning systems
• A Strategic Thinker; People manager with at least 3 year people management experience;
• Ability to prioritise and work to tight deadlines in a high pressure environment
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to resolve conflict and obtain consensus

Scope of Role:
• The day-to-day management of the Operations function in order to meet customer needs and company operating income goals.
• Control Bill of Material process, implement business system (BPCS) process improvements.
• Liaise with engineering recourses to have fit-for-purpose components to meet design.
• Manage the sourcing of components and capital items and negotiate prices to ensure containment within budget.
• Engage in Quality Audits of suppliers.
• To be aware of general production and technical constraints at all times. To liaise with other members of the Operations team to formulate and be responsible for the weekly production plan taking into account all material availability, stock holdings and capacity constraints.
• Plan, develop and implement strategy to meet agreed organisational performance plans within agreed budgets and timescales (covering relevant areas of operation - eg manufacturing, distribution, administration).
• Foster a work environment that engenders positive energy, creativity and teamwork among employees by conducting meetings, listening to each department's issues (Warehouse, Production, Operations Office) and concerns, and setting a professional example by showing leadership qualities.

Salary in the region of £35,000 + full benefits package.

The role will suit individuals currently working as an Operations Manager, Buyer, Purchasing Manager, Procurement and living within a commutable distance of Devon, Dorset, Exeter, Taunton, Yeovil, Weymouth, Axminster or willing to relocate.
