PURCHASING SPECIALIST Job

An electronic component manufacturer located in the New England Region is currently seeking a Purchasing Specialist who will report to the VP of Supply Chain Management.  The ideal candidate will have a successful track record in purchasing including sourcing strategy, planning and execution.

This person's responsibilities will include but not limited to:

Manage supplier relations and supply agreement compliance
Develop new vendors as required with emphasis on cost reduction
Manage short resolution, reporting and escalation
Ensure timely MRP execution to minimize inventory liability
Forecast and track inventory receipts to inventory plan
Forecast and track purchas price variance
Ensure department is compliant with coporate policy, ISO regulations

QUALIFICATIONS:

5+ years of experience in purchasing within an electronics
manufacturing

Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain or Operations Management

Extensive knowledge of purchasing policies and practices in the manufacturing industry

Strong experience in sourcing and negotiating contract

Certification in Six Sigma, TQM, TCO, Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies

Certification with APICS or CPM a plus

Expertise in "world class: procurement operations

Ability to deliver effective presentations and written communications to internal/external audiences

Prior management or supervisory experience

Strong knowledge in establishing systematic processes that will maintain cost effective
inventory levels while keeping critical deliveries on time

Strong analytical skills and business judgment, along with strong client relationship management

Excellent leadership, interpersonal communication skills are essential
