Due to an internal promotion they now seek to appoint a Purchasing Supervisor into the senior management team.
Supervising and mentoring a team of three your duties will include:
- Negotiation of purchasing contracts and agreements
- Investigate trends in basic raw materials and supply prices and establish purchasing plans
- Review and process claims against suppliers relating to unsatisfactory goods and services
- Ensure timely supply of good and services
- Effective warehouse and inventory control
- Continuous process improvement
- Prepare detailed financial analysis to support alternative purchasing strategies
- Develop and mentor the purchasing team
To succeed in this role ideally you will possess the following skills and attributes:
- Knowledge of plant processes
- Strong business acumen along with knowledge of financial reporting
- Previous experience within the manufacturing sector ideally in a leadership role
- Strong communication and negotiation skills
