PVR Specialist

 This position will maintain and improve processes and systems that affect the quality of our castings. The person in this position will have the following essential duties and responsibilities:

 

·     Lead the Process Variable Reduction (PVR) initiative at Plant 3 through the collection and analysis of data, identification of the root cause variation, and development of effective corrective and preventive actions. 

 

Knowledge, Skills Abilities:

·         Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical or metallurgical engineering preferred. Other engineering disciplines (Industrial Engineering) may be considered based on experience.

·         Knowledge of the sand casting industry related to steel production would be a distinct advantage.

·         The ability to analyze and interpret technical procedures and specifications. This includes the ability to write reports, business correspondence, work instructions, and procedures.

·         The ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from shop floor personnel, peers, management, vendors and customers is also required.

·         Analytical skills, critical thinking, research ability, and independent judgment required. The ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions is a prerequisite.

·         Computer experience with MS Suites Products. Oracle experience preferred.

·         Candidate must also be able to understand complex systems and have a systematic approach to problem solving using validated data and fact based discussions.
