PWM Business Unit Controller – Manager recruitment
PWM Controllers work in partnership with the Private Wealth Management business, which provide a wealth management service to high net worth individuals. The aim of the business is to move private investors from low-yielding savings into higher yielding investments through innovation and education, whilst adhering to individual clients' long term needs and risk profiles.
The finance team supports the day-to-day activities as well as collaborating in various business initiatives and is challenged with providing strategic information for decision making while also protecting the Firm's books and records.
The PWM Controllers team is made up of 11 people and is split into 3 main areas: Revenue Reporting, Management Reporting and Financial Reporting.
We are looking to fill an Manager level position within the Revenue Reporting team in PWM Controllers, whose major functions and responsibilities include:
- Oversight and Review of total EMEA Revenues (including Switzerland)
- Review of production of daily PL and month end reports
- Review monthly books-to-reported reconciliation for PWM Global trading P/L and day to day ownership of the issue
- Month end balance sheet and revenue review and sign off
- Day-to-day point of contact and support for Operations, Business Unit Administration and Brokers/sales assistants
- Understanding and reporting key drivers of revenues such as headcount and assets under management
- Strategic reviews and scenario analysis
- Ensure proper control and guardianship of PWM books and records
- Continual development of controls and streamlining of processes
- Finance representation in various PWM initiatives and projects
- Implementation of control and procedures over new banking platform
- Liaison with internal and external auditors
The group also forms a point of contact for numerous ad-hoc queries and liaises with different areas across Finance, Business, Operations and IT functions and geographic locations in order to provide a unified source of information to internal clients.
Skills Required:
We are looking for a strong candidate educated to degree level (or equivalent) who is enthusiastic, dedicated and eager to learn. The position is ideally suited to a qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) and will provide excellent exposure to a commercial environment. Other requirements include:
