PWM: Investment Strategy Group, Analyst recruitment

The Investment Strategy Group (ISG) - within Goldman Sachs’ Private Wealth Management - has responsibility for strategic and tactical asset allocation views for the firm’s high net worth clients.  The role of a member of ISG is very broad and includes research and analysis across a wide range of asset classes.  Strong quantitative and analytical skills, creativity and intellectual curiosity, and interpersonal skills are all critical.

Responsibilities will ultimately include developing asset allocation techniques and models, researching various asset classes and investment strategies using rigorous quantitative models as well as qualitative judgment, and disseminating the group's views and customized recommendations to PWM investment professionals and clients. The individual will work closely with other Investment Strategy Group (ISG) team members and investment professionals from teams across the global business, and will use his/her expertise to create customized solutions for clients with unique circumstances.

Principal Responsibilities
•Produce customized research reports and presentations for clients on various investment topics
•Manage research and client projects across multiple teams
•Survey academic research and industry practices on asset allocation approaches
•Generate new ideas for ISG’s strategic asset allocation process
•Research risk/return characteristics of various asset classes and strategies
•Build financial models to analyze different aspects of portfolio risk and return
•Disseminate information and views to Wealth Management teams and their clients

Experience required
••Excellent quantitative and analytical skills
•Degree in a quantitative discipline, e.g. Maths, Finance, Economics, Engineering
•Knowledge of current academic research and industry practices
•Ability to translate and simplify complex concepts and theories into practical usage
•Ability to work with clients and sales people to advise on investment opportunities
•Strong programming ability (at least one of MATLAB, R, C, Java), and experience with Excel.
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills
