QA Analyst / QA Lead recruitment

The Organisation

The role is a QA lead within FICC Trade Capture. This global team develops front office trade capture and processing applications that support a variety of FICC products. The internal user community covers sales, trading, finance and middle office groups.

The Programme

This programme exists to support UBS’s Non Linear Interest Rates Structured Credit business groups. It aims to deliver a series of improvements to pre-trade, trade capture and middle office trade processing aimed at re-engineering systems and processes to meet new regulatory requirements and to streamline the overall trade flow. These improvements include enhancements to existing applications together with some brand new systems.

The Role

The key responsibilities of this role are :

• Work with the business analysts, the user community and the development team to define and implement the test plan for new functionality.

• Improve and develop the QA approach with a focus on test automation where practical.

• Work with the development teams to improve our agile development methodologies.

• Develop a deep understanding of the full front to back business process and application portfolio. Execute bespoke tests for complex scenarios.

• Develop strong working relationships with the other QA teams across UBS.

• Lead a small QA team.

• Become a core member of the structured front to back team, helping to ensure that delivered software meets user expectations and performs reliably in production.

The Person

The ideal candidate will have experience of running a QA function in a fast paced environment where priorities and requirements can change. They will understand the need to make progress but balance this by the understanding that system failures can result in a loss. They will be prepared to fight their corner when the need arises but balance this by understanding the need for others to fight theirs.

Key skills are :

• QA experience (including automation experience) in a mission critical environment

• Knowledge and experience of working with agile development teams

• Basic working knowledge of SQL and XML (Xpath/ XSL)

• Excellent written and verbal communication

• FI Derivatives (desirable)
