Provider of satellite entertainment programming to U.S households The QA End to End Test Architect candidate will work as a member of the Business Process Test team in Software Quality Assurance department. This team is responsible for inspiring business customer's confidence in application quality by coordinating effective end-to-end testing. Candidate will bring a wealth of knowledge, experience with strong technical and analytical skills to support end-to-end test analysis (a.k.a business processes). The candidate may be expected to supervise or mentor junior level members of the team. Candidate ideally will have technical experience in designing, optimizing and implementing end-to-end test efforts in a large, distributed enterprise environment. Essential Duties: Participates in requirements gathering discussions as part of skeleton team to understand requirements and provide feedback on requirements testability. Participates in User Acceptance definition session with Test Analyst and Business Stakeholders Reviews Solution Analysis Specification (SAS) and COR for completeness and testability and provide feedback. Documents requirements defects during SAS reviews and share with business analysts Reviews high Level Design document and provide feedback. Reviewing project specifications and working with other organizations to understand the functional and system requirements, including the system software design, internal and external interfaces, use cases, etc. Aptitude to step through requirements and create logic positive and negative test cases (Real world scenarios) Develop and maintain business process catalog Perform requirement analysis against business process catalog for end-to-end testing Creates detailed LOE for project SQA test activities Developing end-to-end test scenarios and generating detailed test procedures to properly and rigorously test the system requirements and functionality per the project specifications Review end-to-end test scenarios with team for feedback before scheduling joint-planning sessions with UAT Schedule joint-planning sessions with UAT to review high level end-to-end test scenarios Review action items along with schedule with the team (documented as part of joint-planning sessions with UAT) Identifying, analyzing, and documenting any requirement defects discovered during joint-planning with UAT Working with the cross-functional teams to resolve requirement issues Provide input to ensure UAT processes are in-line with industry best practices Ability to analyze problems and conclude solutions Work with the business, technology, and operations to determine priorities and schedule of releases Support analysis for a range of projects from defect fixes and enhancements to strategic initiatives Escalate key testing issues and provide feedback to the stakeholders Analyze test data to ensure expected results are met Ensure testing is completed within established time and objectives conform to the user requirements and line of business Provide feedback and suggestions on process improvements Participates in test strategy and test plan reviews and provide feedback Develops (or Contributes) Requirements Tractability Matrix (RTM), including high level test scenarios and submits for review to BA, DTV and IBM Test Leads and UAT. Reviews the release escaped defects root cause analysis report (created by team) and traces requirements defects to a project and shares with business analyst in order to improve the analysis stage Participates in post project review and lessons learned REQUIRED: A BS degree in computer science or related engineering field is required, with at least 5 years practical experience in software development and/or software test/quality assurance engineering. A Masters degree is desired. Background should include a working knowledge of UNIX and/or LINUX operating systems and basic SQL querying skills. Some experience with Java, C/C++, Java, JSP, DHTML and XML is preferred. Solid understanding of DIRECTV business or related within same domain Demonstrated QA skills with at least 2 complete product cycles, from inception to market delivery. Candidates must be capable of working successfully in a deadline-driven, team-oriented environment. In-depth knowledge of structured testing methodologies. Knowledge of project management practices. Strong planning and analysis skills. Solid written/verbal communication, problem-solving, and analytical abilities, with good planning, organizational, and follow-up skills required. Demonstrated ability to lead projects across organizational boundaries. Results oriented, decisive, innovative, with the ability to consistently meet deadlines with high quality deliverables. Proven ability to influence and gain commitment at all levels of the organization. Experience with defect tracking systems.
