Position Description:
NetSpend Internal Systems, and its Infrastructure Automation team, architects and delivers technology that promotes stability, scalability, availability and flexibility in NetSpend’s financial processing and testing platforms. Infrastructure Automation makes our production software better, stronger, and faster, and supports these improvements through QA Automation to ensure stability and reliability.
The ideal candidate for the QA Automation Engineer role within Infrastructure Automation will be a self-starter, constantly looking for innovative ways to reduce any manual or repetitive QA tasks and improve team efficiency. Most importantly this Lead must have vision on how the Automation team will add value to NetSpend systems with the test frameworks they build and manage. The candidate must have a passion for understanding, breaking, and testing cutting-edge products.
This position will be responsible for utilizing a variety of custom developed software and off-the-shelf packages to build functional, performance, and stability tests across a diverse environment of application servers, databases, operating systems, and hardware platforms comprising NetSpend’s financial platform. This position will not only oversee framework and test case automation, design, and execution, but also serve as an individual contributor.
Responsibilities:
· Responsible for analysis and design of test harnesses, automation processes, and analysis tools.
· Architect automated test strategies that will help to scale QA’s coverage and maintain compliance, security and load baselines.
· Ownership of the automation environment, coding and maintenance standards required for automation.
· Hands-on contributions to QA deliverables and the testing process.
· Create a process for integrating offshore QA efforts into project lifecycles.
Skills/Education/Experience:
· A development background or comparable experience with a deep understanding of automating functional, performance, and stress tests, with a combination of off-the-shelf and custom-built tools.
· 3+ years experience with programming for a QA environment.
· 2+ years Oracle SQL programming experience is a must.
· Experience with Java, JBoss, Bamboo preferred.
· Experience in Agile / Lean development methodologies preferred.
· Experience in financial services or a high-transaction processing environment preferred.
