Job Summary / Purpose
Experian Cheetahmail is looking for a Software QA Tester to join the Software Quality Assurance team. The ideal candidate will have experience in the following areas: requirements / user story analysis for test authoring, web-based user interface testing, back-end verification.
An affinity toward Open Source tools and a basic knowledge of Unix is a requirement. The candidate should be able to work in short development / QA cycles side-by-side with the development team. Thoroughness and a strong attention to detail are required.
Primary job responsibilities are but not limited to the following:
- Analyze technical specifications and functional specifications to determine testing needs.
- Write high-level test plans and detailed test cases from requirements and developer documentation.
- Execute tests according to plan including new feature and regression testing.
- Track, monitor, and prioritize testing issues (bugs), and interacting with developers to understand and resolve bugs.
- Perform data validation.
- Work with remote development and QA team members.
Technical Requirements
- Experience working in an Agile (scrum) environment is preferred.
- At least 3 to 4 years software testing experience overall development experience will also be considered.
- Experience testing software in a Linux environment.
- Cross Browser testing experience is desirable.
- SQL and Oracle knowledge is a plus.
- Working knowledge of Java, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, DOM, and web technologies is a plus.
- Experience with UI automation software a plus.
- Software Development experience is a plus.
