QA Engineer recruitment
At Thomson Reuters, we deliver intelligent information quickly and efficiently, so professionals have knowledge to act. We combine industry expertise with innovative technology to deliver critical information to leading decision makers in the financial, legal, tax and accounting, intellectual property and scientific, healthcare, and media markets, powered by the world's most trusted news organization.
We are adding a QA Engineer to our San Francisco office. As a member of our testing services group you will learn, explore, and challenge new quantitative models, performance metrics, financial data sources and user interfaces that directly contribute to the success of our clients and their customers including mutual funds, pension funds, and individual investors.
As a QA Engineer your objective is to ensure that our algorithms, software systems, and user interfaces function exactly as intended. You will help find coherent patterns within incoherent data sets, identify potential errors, and be the first to explore new features. You will imagine all the ways something could go wrong and then employ your technical skills to validate or rule out your concerns. Your analytical thinking will eliminate defects because the test cases you write and execute will effectively challenge both the design and implementation of new features.
On a daily basis you will use your strong quantitative skills, as well as a variety of technical tools, such as SQL, Excel, and programming languages (e.g. R, Python). You will create permanent systems and procedures so that your knowledge is reusable within the group. You will assess technical specifications in various states of maturity, helping to eliminate development and testing risks. You will look for every opportunity to improve the quality of Thomson Reuters content based on your investigations of our software systems and the data they process. These efforts will require you to interact with employees at every level and in different parts of our organization.
We expect our QA Engineers to be successful working with new technologies and on a number of different projects simultaneously.
