An exciting opportunity has arisen with my client, one of the UK's leading manufacturer's of fresh salads and sandwiches, for a QA Manager.
Job Purpose
Overall Responsibility for maintenance of an up to date Quality System. Key team member of Operations Management, providing technical support to all functions within agreed budgets.
To be responsible for the strategic management and continual development of a robust QC system that meets all Codes of Practice and legal requirements.
Accountabilities
- To effectively manage a team consisting of QC Team Leaders and QC's.
- To maintain, drive and work towards continually improving quality and food safety standards
- Working with and engaging others to find opportunities to challenge and develop the performance of the function.
- To ensure KPI's on complaints and micro are driven in the factory.
- To monitor factory trials to ensure smooth delivery of NPD.
Knowledge, Skills Experience Required:
- Technical discipline degree or alternative relevant experience
- Sound background in and experience of Quality requirements within a production environment
- Management experience
- Strategic thinking

- Use problem solving techniques to aid the site team in improving quality performance.
- Understand the application of food regulations, HACCP and other food safety requirements on site.
- Proactively drive and manage the structure, culture and behavioural values of the Technical team to ensure that the site is provided with adequate and timely resources.
- Coach, support and mentor the members of the Technical team, ensuring they are trained, developed and listened to on a regular basis.
