QA/BA Job in Irvine, California US

Position responsibilities:

·         Develop, execute and maintain test plans for the product releases.

·         Design, develop and maintain/enhance the QA automation software.

·         Design, implementation and documentation of test cases and addition of these test cases to the automated test suites.

·         Track and report on test status.

·         Defect prevention through early involvement with project teams.

·         Defect reporting and tracking.

·         Work with junior QA engineers to mentor them in the area of testing best practices and methodologies.

·         Identify and execute the manual test coverage.

·         Act as test coordinator and lead for selected projects.

·         May require overtime or off-peak hours to meet commitments.

·         Performs other related duties as assigned.

 

Essential skills, knowledge and abilities:

·         Must have a minimum of 4 years of experience as a QA Engineer/Senior QA Engineer.

·         Strong experience with QA processes and methodologies required; automated and manual test processes, black box, white box and gray box testing, test cases design, scripting, execution, automated test tools. 

·         Must be familiar with the Software Development Lifecycle.

·         Experience with the Microsoft Solutions Framework and Agile/Scrum

·         Must be a self-starter who can work independently without direct supervision.

·         Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or four to six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

·         Demonstrated use of intermediate computer operations (basic programming in 3rd and 4th generation languages, relational databases, and operating systems) and intermediate software packages (word processing, spreadsheet, graphics, etc.).

·         Must have a strong experience with MS SQL 2005/2008.

·         Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.  Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

·         Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

·         Ability to define problems, collects data, establishes facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

 

Non-essential skills, knowledge and abilities:

·         A minimum of 2-3 years of experience testing Windows client/server and web based applications required with a programming background preferred.

·         Development Methodologies are preferred.

·         Hands-on experience with ETL, Microsoft SSIS and/or data-intensive applications and frameworks preferred.

·         Development experience in C# .net, ASP .net preferred.
