This position is taking place at a well-known biotech company in Huntingdon Valley, PA. This is a 12 month temporary position at 40 hours per week. JOB DESCRIPTION Scientist - Responsible for setting day-to-day objectives and performing complex tasks and novel procedures in the area of Circulating Tumor Cells CTC assay and biomarker development. She/ He will create novel marker reagents and test them on the CellSearch System. The Scientist will develop novel biomarkers, as well as adapt known biomarkers for analysis of CTCs in model system and cancer patient samples and will develop procedures and conduct experiments with minimal direct supervision using general guidance procedures. Will conduct assay development and product development to written and established Design Control Specifications. The Scientist II will develop raw material, in process, and final release QC assay to assure product performance and compliance to product requirements as set down in Product Requirements Documentation, Will serve as a vital member of multi-discipline product development teams and will manage all aspects of the laboratory operations, instrument QC, supply ordering, coordination of resources shared across groups and routine operator maintenance. Qualifications A minimum of a Bachelor s degree with 5years related experience OR a Master s degree with 3 years related experience is required. Experience in cell biology, cell separation technology, flow cytometry and/ microscopy are required. Experience with immunology and/ or Biochemistry would be preferred. The selected candidate must have experience in the development of QC assays and products. Experience with tissue culture is desired. Knowledge of and experience with GMP manufacturing would be a plus. Prior experience with technical documentation and QC assays and their use in quality control of materials either for clinical research or transferring to Operations is required.The individual must be able to demonstrate scientific knowledge and its application to the product development and be able to present data concisely and articulately to staff and be able to discuss the implications of the data along with next steps. Further, must be able to work independently and with minimum supervision. Excellent communication, both verbal and written, is required.
