Qual Accountant Reconciliations Project Manager recruitment

A new opportunity has arisen working for Bank of America Merrill Lynch as a qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) Reconciliations Project Manager to come on board and to develop a reconciliation process for our liquidity risk management system. This position is initially a 3 month contract with a view to extend.

The ideal candidate will have proven experience working within one of the Big 4 or larger consultancy firms or Financial services within an Assistance Vice President capacity.

Given the scope and increasing importance of liquidity reporting across the industry, this is an excellent opportunity for an individual who has a foundation in Investment Banking Finance to enhance and broaden their skillset.

Role:

The individual will apply a mix of accounting, data analysis, and project management skills to work as part of a team designing and implementing a new reconciliation process.  You will need to compare information from multiple data environments in various areas of the bank (Finance, Middle Office, Operations and Treasury) to enable comparison with data held in our liquidity risk system in order to identify missing or duplicated information.

The role will involve collaborating with multiple business partners across the bank to understand different reporting systems and to design a reconciliation process, which will be sustainable. The candidate will also need to proactively engage with the change management and technology teams responsible for improving our data quality and assist efforts on feed development/enhancement and overall process design to close the gaps identified.

• Analyse data in Liquidity, Finance, MO and Operations systems

• Work with business partners to design and implement reconciliation processes

• Compile findings and produce management reporting

• Quantify and articulate data integrity issues – engaging with technology enhancement efforts

• Document and communicate ongoing responsibilities

Requirements

Essential skills required to be considered include

• Qualified Accountant - ACA, ACCA, or CIMA (or equivalent qualification)

• Likely to have Big 4 or larger consulting firm experience

• Fundamental accounting and reconciliation skills

• MS Excel proficiency (pivots, data comparison etc.)

• Well organised, driven and delivery focused – tenacious in solving problems and driving to a conclusion

• Strong control mentality

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Flexibility to deal with multiple concurrent issues and tasks - ability to self manage and prioritise

• High level of ownership and attention to detail
