Qualified Financial Accountant required for UBS London Branch reporting team recruitment

Daily tasks will include:

• Supporting the London Branch Controller in the review and validation of the month-end financial statements and related aspects of the close process.

• Developing an understanding of the ledger and the reporting toolset and the front-to-back bookings which lie behind the reported numbers.

• Supporting the commentary and signoff process through liaison with stakeholders and follow-up and resolution of items.

• Developing effective working relationships within the London Branch Team, the wider Regional Accounting team, and with colleagues in other business areas.

• Building an understanding of the various businesses, processes and products which comprise the London Branch financials and leverage this to support the review and control of the entity.

• Developing an understanding of the firm’s accounting policies and their application to the reporting. Assisting others within Finance in their understanding of, and adherence to, these policies

• Resolving issues arising during month-end process and reviewing through liaison with the business areas and Change the Bank.

• Liaising with the external auditors, resolving queries and involvement in ad-hoc projects involving the entity.

• Supporting the Regional Accounting team and the wider finance community in their understanding of the London Branch reporting requirements and their use of the reporting toolset.

• Supporting the wider Regional Accounting in their reporting of other entities, Regulatory Reporting and change projects

You will have recently qualified as an accountant, and while previous financial accounting experience is required, it is not essential that this has been gained within an investment bank or even within the Financial Services industry. However your recent employer will be an organisation comparable in scale and complexity to UBS, a global business with regional and product reporting lines.
