Boeing Defence Australia is an integral part of the Boeing global organisation, employing approximately 1400 people at 13 sites around the country, primarily in support of high technology aerospace and communications systems for the Department of Defence.
We are currently seeking suitable candidates for a “Qualified Flight Instructor" to work with our AATTS team based at Oakey. As the position holder you will be responsible for:

conduct flying training and ground instruction for Kiowa instructors and pilot trainees in accordance with appropriate Training Management Plans.

To provide sound mentorship and coaching to Junior Kiowa Qualified Flying Instructors.
To be successful in this role, you will have met the following criteria:
Essential Criteria
-
Hold a current CASA commercial helicopter pilots licence, including Class 1 medical.
-
Hold a CASA Helicopter Night VFR rating; or a Command Instrument Rating and the night aeronautical experience detailed in paragraph 14.1.(b).(i) of Civil Aviation Order 40.2.1.

Qualification Specific (CASA):
-
Current CASA Grade 2 Instructor Rating (Helicopter)
-
1500 hours total helicopter experience, including 1000 hours pilot in command on turbine engine helicopters.
-
Instructional experience of 400 hours turbine engine helicopter including an IFR Training Approval and at least 250 hours of instructional experience on the Kiowa helicopter.

Hold CASA Command Instrument rating for all navigation aids fitted to the Kiowa helicopter, and at least 150 hours actual plus simulated IF.

Current CASA endorsement for the operation of an aircraft with a cargo hook/slung load.

Current CASA endorsement to instruct in the operation of an aircraft while winching or hoisting..
Qualification Specific (Military):
-
Hold (or have held within the last 24 months) an ADF Kiowa Category C QFI Rating or higher, and
-
ADF Command Instrument Rating on the Kiowa helicopter.

Command NVD Qualification.
-
Be fluent in spoken and written English.
-
Must be an Australian Citizen.
-
Be able to obtain a Restricted Security Clearance as per Defence Department requirements.

Ability to attain a Certificate IV – (BSZ40198 or TAA04) Training and Assessment or equivalent
-
Must have minimum of 2 years in a Supervisory, Team Lead or Management role.
-
Demonstrated ability to work within pre-set program time frames.
-
Experience in developing and maintaining reporting and associated metrics linked to contract key performance indicators
-
Flexibility to work reasonable ad-hoc hours – night flying, out of hours work, etc.
Desirable criteria
-
Experience in working within a matrix or dual reporting functionality environment

Hold a Certificate IV – (BSZ40198 or TAA04) Training and Assessment
-
Crew Resource Management or Aviation Risk Management experience.
-
Sound knowledge of the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF).
-
Current working knowledge of AAvnTC Training Managers’ Handbook (TMHB).
