Quality Analyst
The Clinical Quality Analyst works as the principle liaison between our external and internal clients in the implementation and support of National Hospital Quality Measures (NHQM) as defined by the Joint Commission (TJC). This role requires expert knowledge of the current TJC quality measurement specifications as well as previous and future TJC specification releases. The ideal candidate has nursing or other health care degree and experience with knowledge of clinical data, medical record abstraction, and also has strong computer skills with experience in a software development environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are mandatory. The Clinical Quality Analyst participates in regularly scheduled meetings with clients and vendors and is called upon to present information at these meetings. The Clinical Quality Analyst will attend the annual TJC Vendor Briefing to gather information on upcoming quality measurement additions and revisions. This position also includes the role of trainer and preparation of training materials for our clients to support new software releases.
Additional Responsibilities
- Generation and validation of regularly scheduled and ad hoc reports
- Participation with internal and external clients to identify and prioritize software requests
- Participation in translation of TJC specifications into software development specifications
- Participation in debugging and testing of application software utilizing bug tracking software
- Maintenance of client clinical measure selections
- Maintenance of application software user logins/passwords
- Maintenance of online documentation and abstraction forms
- Participation in the quarterly quality measurement data submission process including data validation, error checking/resolution, and pre- and post-submission audit reports

- United States citizen
- ADP-2 security clearance
- Minimum of 5 years healthcare industry experience
- Clinical coding/content knowledge
- ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding knowledge
- Knowledge of HEDIS, NQF, PQRI or other performance measure sets
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a clinical setting
- Minimum of 3 years experience in a software development environment a plus
- Relational database reporting experience a plus
- Ability to think analytically, define problems and frame solutions
- Ability to understand and interact with technically oriented team members
- Knowledge of healthcare industry concepts and methodologies
Education
- College degree, preferably in health care
