Quality Assurance Analyst Job in New Braunfels 78130, Texas US
The Quality Services team consists of two domains, Quality Assurance and Application Support. The Quality Services Analyst is responsible for supporting all applications within The SCOOTER Store application portfolio. From within the Application Support domain, the Quality Services Analyst will work with users from the business to resolve issues, maintain system integrity, prioritize business needs, and support projects. From within the Quality Assurance domain, the Quality Services Analyst will perform system testing on business critical applications to identify and report software defects. The Quality Services Analyst will spend approximately 70% of their time in quality assurance and 30% in application support.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Quality Assurance
- Translate high-level business requirements into test plans, scenarios, and scripts from design and requirements documents, user scenarios and other input
- Execute test plans and test cases to verify the software meets business requirements
- Work closely with software developers, business analysts, and system administrators in an agile team to analyze test results
- Uncover, report, and champion defects through to resolution
- Provide level-of-effort estimates for testing deliverables
- Deliverable tracking and reporting; monitor testing progress to ensure deadlines are met
- Assist in the coordination and implementation of user acceptance testing
- Participate in readiness reviews, contributing to go/no-go decisions
- Participate in and conduct retrospectives
- Set up and maintain testing environments
- Other duties as necessary
Application Support
- Provide troubleshooting and administrative support of custom CRM and SOP applications
- Provide troubleshooting and administrative support of commercial applications, including Fastrack, Microsoft Great Plains Dynamics, and Microsoft Sharepoint
- Complete requests and resolve user issues escalated from ServiceDesk
- Keep open ticket count within acceptable ranges and close within acceptable time frames
- Employ defined and ad-hoc troubleshooting techniques to determine root cause and resolve issues
- Utilize trend analysis to identify problem areas and recommend solutions
- Provide daily system/application administration
- Maintain data integrity of all applications
- Create departmental policies, procedures, and process documentation
- Prepare and maintain prioritized lists and change control documentation
- Mentor and share knowledge with team members in Quality Services
- Maintain Application Support Knowledgebase
- Other duties as necessary
Education and/or Experience: Bachelor’s degree (Computer Science) or equivalent; and 3-5 years job-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
Quality Assurance certifications a plus, but not required
A+, Project + certifications a plus, but not required
Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- 2-4 years of Test experience preferred, not required
- 2-4 years of Application Support experience preferred, not required
- Experience with all aspects of the software development lifecycle
- Knowledge of quality assurance methodologies
- Experience with manual testing, authoring test plans and test specifications
- Experience with automated software testing processes and tools a plus
- Ability to prepare automated test scripts and test plans a plus
- Work and/or academic experience using Visual Basic, COM+, XML, ASP and DHTML in an MS windows DNA, NET architecture environment a plus
- Strong written and verbal, customer service, problem solving and organizational skills
- Ability to work in fast paced environment
- Ability to work flexible schedule as needed to complete assigned tasks
