Position Summary

Under general direction of the Manager, Quality Assurance responsible for the accurate testing and evaluation of software programs against design specifications and user requirements. Serves as the liaison between the Project Management Offices, Process Leads, Test Team and the external partners to ensure project expectations are properly set and met. Utilizes requirements traceability and risk based approach for all development projects and participates in test case development and execution, analyzing results for validity, clarity and completeness. Responsible for a combination of individual contributions and oversight of a third party service provider service delivery when executing primary duties and responsibilities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Responsible for third party oversight and/or individually preparing, developing, maintaining and executing a wide range of complex quality test plans, test cases, and test scripts with full competency to ensure software meets or exceeds specified standards and end user requirements.
  2. Performs third party oversight and/or individual detailed risk assessments and drafts or revises test plans and scripts to make potential malfunctions occur; documents discrepancies and works with other technical associates on the resolution of the discrepancies.
  3. Supports specialized testing as needed including security testing, environment readiness, batch schedule validation, performance and automated testing. On a limited basis may assist teams in functional and integration testing.
  4. Participates in project inspections throughout project life cycle. These activities include review of design documents through review of testing results and associated defect records.
  5. Responsible to participate in creation and provides maintenance support of documentation to support processes and/or applications.
  6. Provides training in testing policies, practices and tools to project team members. This may consists of informal activities such as on-on-one training up through formal preparation of training materials and class training.
  7. Coordinates with the Project Management offices throughout the User Acceptance Testing process and assists in the third party oversight and/or individual maintenance of test plans to assigned products to assure product quality from a functional and qualitative perspective.
  8. Complies with all appropriate policies, procedures and safety rules and regulations.
  9. Travels up to 15% of the time.
  10. Performs related duties as assigned.
Experience and Education Requirements

Requires some training in fields such as business administration, accountancy, sales, marketing, computer sciences or similar vocations generally obtained through completion of a four year Bachelor’s Degree program, technical vocational training, or equivalent combination of experience and education. Normally requires a minimum of four (4) years related and progressively responsible experience in a similar position; at least two (2) years as a Quality Assurance Analyst in the pharmaceutical or Biotech industries with extensive integration activity and interactions with external SI vendors; experience with centralized, distributed and desktop applications. Familiarity with documentation tools.

 

Minimum Skills, Knowledge and Ability Requirements

  1. Ability to use the automated testing tools to support and assist the company testing efforts
  2. Demonstrated experience with one of the following testing tools such as Quality Center, LOADRUNNER, or QUICKTEST PRO
  3. Strong knowledge of relevant technology, tools and software; knowledge of UNIX, SDLC, Desktop services, HP Test tools, or equivalent testing tools.
  4. Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills; excellent relationship building skills
  5. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  6. Strong analytical, problem-solving and conceptual skills
  7. Excellent organizational skills; attention to detail
