United States Steel Corporation is seeking a Metallurgical Engineer and/or Experienced Quality System Professional to maintain USS Tubular Texas Operations Quality System and assist the other USS Tubular Products manufacturing facilities maintain their API product licenses, and ISO9000, ISO17025, PED certifications.
Major responsibilities include:
Maintenance of existing Texas Operations Quality System Documentation to keep documentation aligned with US Steel Corporate Processes, Policies, and API, ISO, PED, and USS Tubular Products Quality System Requirements.
Provide support and guidance to the manufacturing plants on maintenance and implementation of the US Steel Tubular Product Quality System and the interpretation and strategies to demonstrate conformance with API Q1, ISO9001, ISO17025, ASME BPVC NCA3800, and the EU PED.
Coordinate the Texas Operations Quality System/ Key Supplier Auditing and Qualification program.
Coordinate and schedule Texas Operations Quality Systems Audits and maintain record of Texas Operations QS Audit Reports. Assist in auditing of other USS Tubular Product Plants.
Coordinate the Texas Operations commodity/service provider program. Maintain the list of qualified Texas Operations key Commodity/service providers. Schedule and maintain record for Texas Operations Key Commodity Supplier audit Reports. Coordinate with Texas Operations Purchasing on issues involving Texas Operations Key Commodities and Services.
Provide Technical Support to the Manufacturing plant, Sales, Marketing, and customers on issues involving metallurgical/ manufacturing processes, specification requirements, and mill capabilities to manufacture API, ASTM, ASME, and custom Customer Specified Tubular Product.
Apply education/technical experience and utilize problem solving and continuous improvement skills to lead or participate in Ad Hoc teams to address Product Quality or Processing problems in the US Steel Tubular Manufacturing, Processing or Texas Operations locations.
Requirements:
5 years experience in Quality Assurance/ Quality Control.
At least 2 years experience with implementation and maintenance of Quality Systems, working with ISO-9001, API-Q1, ISO17025, ASME BPVC NCA3800, or ISO-TS16949.
High School diploma required.
