Goodrich ISR Systems is seeking an experienced Quality Engineer. Responsibilities include:

Providing Quality interface and expertise between the organization and its customers to proactively assure that needs and expectations are understood and satisfied.

Participate in all aspects of product development and launch activities throughout the organization. Efforts are primarily targeted at the identification of customer expectations, manufacturing and test support, reliability analysis, design reviews, evaluation of test programs, material testing and inspection and management of quality costs.

Maintaining positive and productive working relationships with all key contacts to ensure continuous professionalism and effectiveness.

Executing the initiatives of the organization in the development, implementation and improvement of the appropriate Quality Management Systems throughout the operation, with all the documentation required. This includes providing advanced quality planning support in the development and launch of new products, processes and services.

Developing, implementing and reviewing inspection and test plans, standards and acceptance criteria, and procedures and work instructions. Investigate and eliminate causes of quality problems and follow up on corrective actions.

Providing expertise in Quality Assurance and process improvement tools and methods to targeted functions of the organization to support them in their continuous improvement activities.

Developing and analyzing statistical data and product/process performance to recommend and implement improvements in different areas of the organization. Provide support in the way of development and evaluation of process capability, process control plans, analysis of out-of-control conditions and process audits with the objective of improving process performance and capability.

Occasional travel and overtime, as required. Occasional weekend work in support of project schedules. This position reports to the Manager of Quality Engineering.

Essential Responsibilities:
Provide quality assurance support to customers, suppliers, partners and targeted departments of the organization. Review and approve design documents and production and process work instructions. Determine and develop inspection requirements and criteria. Apply Quality Engineering principles as required; including statistics and predictive analysis, to conduct failure and/or preemptive analysis, or evaluate new products and processes.

Serves as customer advocate during the internal decision making process and primary interface with DCMA and customer quality representatives; coordinate and schedule source inspections as required per contract. Point-of-contact to address and solve quality issues and resolve customer concerns or complaints about products or services.

Review customer contract requirements (including changes) and assess the organization's capability to comply with requirements. Identify program risks and notify Program Office of any issues or potential problems.

Review and understand customer contract requirements and ensure that these requirements are flowed down to the different departments and functions in the organization, and to suppliers and subcontractors.

Monitor compliance to contractual requirements and documented procedures and assure the compliance of deliverable end items.

Report regularly on progress and recommend recovery/mitigation plans to both quality and program management. Conduct independent analysis, interpret requirements, and make recommendations concerning product and processes improvements as a Quality Assurance representative on Integrated Product Development Team.

Four Year Degree in Engineering or related field

*Five or more years of experience in defense or aerospace Quality Assurance

*Analytical Problem Solving skills; understands problem solving methods - i.e. root cause analysis, Apollo, etc.; corrective and preventive action; and the associated statistical tools used to analyze problems.

*Well versed in Cost of Quality and specifically the Cost of Non-Conformance. Uses Cost of Quality metrics and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and waste reduction. Ability to solve problems of typical scope and complexity.

*Basic understanding of the standards, implementation and certification process of Quality Management Systems such as ISO 9001, AS9100, TS16949 and other industry-specific standards and regulations.

*Demonstrated ability to lead moderate size teams; very good communication and presentation skills.

*MUST BE US CITIZEN and be eligible for security clearance.
