Quality Assurance Engineer

Will provide Quality/Product Assurance Engineering and technical expertise to the Counter Rocket, Artillery, and Mortar (C-RAM) Test, Configuration Management, and Product Assurance Division in system life cycle acquisition. The individual will work as part of a team supporting missile weapon system manufacturing with respect to Product Assurance (PA). Will plan and direct activities concerned with the development, application, and/or maintenance of quality standards for processing materials into finished products or systems. Participate in reliability and quality requirements development and testing, various audits and reviews, including production readiness, pilot line validations, failure reviews, and quality audits. Develops methods and procedures for inspection, testing, and evaluation. Support quality-engineering activities and quality oversight of the establishment and implementation of the Critical Safety Item (CSI) program to include CSI identification, processes control, test and inspection requirements. Identify and manage system quality engineering requirements for incorporation in acquisition planning, development, control, and technical documentation. Perform oversight of First Article and environmental stress screening tests, statistical process/quality control (SPC/SQC) analyses, acceptance testing, Special Inspection Equipment (SIE) management, hardware qualification, Quality Assurance Lot Verification Testing (QALVT), Lot Acceptance and Pilot Line Validation. M/F/D/V BS/BA in Engineering or Technical Field plus 8 years of relevant experience required. Experience with US Army system acquisition and production/manufacturing procedures required. Experience in production verification and validation required. Travel up to 25% required. Experience with missile systems is a significant plus. Experience in testing and analyzing parts and process failure mode effects, root cause analysis and similar studies and/or analyses is a significant plus. Experience in managing quality management systems and or participation in quality audits utilizing experience with ISO 9000/AS9100 or equivalent, is a significant plus. Experience in quality engineering core competencies such as environmental stress screening, acceptance process validation, production readiness assessment, statistical process controls and variability reduction, and hardware qualification is a significant plus. Experience in applying basic engineering and process management principles such as program risk and cost reduction, improved system readiness, and elimination of quality deficiencies is a plus. Experience in missile systems Pilot Line Validation, SIE management, sub-assembly proof validation/acceptance, Quality Assurance Lot Verification Testing (QALVT- fly to buy) and Lot Acceptance/SPC methods is essential. Experience with First Article Testing and Supply Chain Management issue resolution is a plus. Experience in decision making to include critical safety item program management is a plus. Experience in Missile Control Radar Systems is a plus. Experience in technical research and problem solving, which should include quality oversight of mechanical or electronics manufacturing, knowledge of supply chain management, reliability, and manufacturing procedures is a plus. Excellent communication and presentation skills desired. Degree requirements can be substitutable with significant missile development technology expertise. Candidate must be eligible for a security clearance which requires US citizenship.
