Job Summary: In our File Transfer Division, the Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing and executing test plans, test scripts, and test methodologies that ensure exhaustive testing of all assigned application. Additional responsibilities include: configuration and administration of test environments, managing defects, defining testing strategy, communicating issues, documenting test results and reviewing documentation..
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Work autonomously to design, develop and execute test cases
- Work closely with QA team to develop best practices
- Create test environments that emulate customer usage
- Work with Development and Support to reproduce and debug complex issues
- Take on special projects (Setting up servers, test data, research, etc.)
- Perform other duties as assigned
Education and/or Experience:
· Requires strong technical knowledge and specific hands-on experience installing, configuring, maintaining and using Windows and Linux/Unix environments.
- 2+ years of experience testing software applications in Windows and Linux/Solaris environments is required.
- Strong familiarity administering and configuring virtual test environments using VMware and/or Hyper-V is required.
- Strong SQL skills are required.
- Experience testing with Oracle, MySQL, and/or Microsoft SQL Server databases is required.
- Experience configuring and administering Microsoft Windows Server 2008/R2 in a test environment is required.
- Understanding of hardware and software object(s) relationship and how they relate in a client/server environment is required.
- Experience conducting web based testing is highly desirable.
- General knowledge of common networking protocols such as FTP, SFTP, HTTP, SMTP, and AS2 is highly desirable.
- Working experience with Jira bug tracking software a bonus.
- Familiarity with the AGILE development process is a plus.

- Problem solver that can work both independently and as a member of a team.
