Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Quality, the Terrell Quality Assurance (QA) Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating Quality strategic initiatives and processes across the Terrell organization. Operational excellence will be achieved through quality systems knowledge, process management application, procedural development and adherence, standardization of best practices, and healthy customer/supplier partnerships. The QA Manager also builds and sustains strong cross functional relationships across the various business units within Oldcastle BuildingEnvelope.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Supports and acts as advocate for continuous improvement by utilizing lean manufacturing techniques, statistical process controls and other quality tools
- Coordinates the development and on-going maintenance of processes for in control and capable through the use of tools such as process flows, fishbone diagrams, process and product FMEA’s, control plans and control charts
- Establishes key performance indicators and maintains systems for tracking, reporting and improving performance
- Maintains a quality program to ensure conformity of purchased material and final products to quality standards
- Develops and maintains the document control system, including development and maintenance of all quality procedures, forms, and work instructions.
- Maintains supplier quality management program to ensure proper selection, approval, and performance of suppliers. Responsibilities will include conducting on-site audits, approving first piece submittals, monitoring supplier performance and driving corrective actions when required.
- Works directly with customers on opportunities for addressing quality issues or for driving improved performance.
- Facilitates management reviews of the organization’s quality system at planned intervals to ensure its continuing stability, adequacy and effectiveness. These reviews shall include assessing opportunities for improvement and establishing action plans when appropriate
- Evaluates the performance of QA personnel within the department. Coaches employees with growth and development opportunities.
- Participates in the development, implementation and execution of the company’s strategic plan.
- Manages the corrective action system and ensures its effectiveness in response to supplier, internal and customer quality concerns.
- Maintains material review system to ensure non-conforming product is identified and controlled to prevent its unintended use or delivery
- Works with Engineering and Manufacturing on establishing quality standards and specs
- Leads regular quality reviews with all areas of the Terrell campus, providing updates on the key process indicators and corrective actions.

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline.
- Five or more years of relevant work experience in a metals manufacturing and processing environment, with direct experience in the following:
- Customer interface, including job site visits
- Supplier development, including supplier assessments
- Process management, with proven performance in process improvement
- Experience in development of procedures and work instructions
- Corrective action and problem solving
- Hands on experience with developing quality systems and processes
- Proven track record of building positive cross functional relationships with Operations, Engineering, Purchasing and other functional organizations
- Advanced computer skills, including MS Office Excel and PowerPoint.
Work Environment:
- Based in Terrell, TX
- Position requires daily exposure to areas where the use of personal protective equipment is required, as well as adherence to all safety procedures
