Quality Assurance Manager

 

Responsible for installing and supervising inspection and testing procedures for finished products.

 

 

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:

 

Recommend corrective action necessary to ensure conformity with quality specifications and standards.

 

Participate in the establishment and implementation of quality specifications, testing procedures and standards for raw material and for processed and finished products.

 

Develops and recommends inspection, sampling techniques and quality control plans.

 

Develops process control procedures ensuring production of finished products meeting quality specifications and standards.

 

Conducts research on product defects and recommends modifications in products or quality standards where warranted.

 

Assists suppliers in establishing inspection standards to meet the company's quality requirements.

 

Visits customers and suppliers when necessary to confer on specific quality problems.

 

Reviews all complaints received from customers to determine where quality control emphasis should be placed at the plants to eliminate problems.

 

Provides technical assistance to the purchasing department in connection with the purchase of raw materials, supplies and equipment.

 

Ensures compliance with governmental regulations.

 

Prepares error, spoilage and salvage reports.

 

May monitor the quality system of subcontractors' operations.

 

Responsible for the make up and revisions of product color codes.

 

Responsible for providing error-free work to all internal and external customers as related to the outcome of their position.

Education Language:  Speak conversational English.

Office Equipment:  Type 30 words per minute, use 10 key desk calculator; have computer literacy in the following- WordPerfect, Multimate, Lotus 1-2-3, Symphony, DOS, and familiar with personal computers.

 

Education and Language Skills:  Possess an Associates degree in math, statistics, metallurgy, business or engineering.  Speak conversational English.

 

 

Prior Experience:  3 years of experience in a quality related position performing the following duties:  supervision, inspections, audits, customer relations and report writing.

 

Special Skills (above average skill desired):  supervision, employee development and personnel practices.

Additional Skills:  ability to concentrate and maintain productivity in high pressure situations; working knowledge of production machinery and equipment, measuring devices and tools.
