The Role

The main element of the role is developing and implementing the strategy for Quality systems for the organisation. As Quality Assurance Manager you will be responsible for managing the Quality Management Systems to meet requirements of the ISO 9001, 9004, 14001, 18001, API, PED, ATEX, and ASME N stamp accreditations and setting the Quality strategies with increasing focus on our Nuclear product offering. With our increasing nuclear order book experience in Managing the Quality aspect of large nuclear contracts is crucial to the role. Reporting into the Engineering Director, the role of Quality Assurance Manager involves planning, organising and leading the quality assurance function to facilitate the manufacture of product whilst ensuring adequate controls are in place to exceed quality requirements of both internal and external customer accreditations. Other dimensions of the role will be to monitor, maintain and drive continuous improvement in all aspects of the Quality Management Systems in accordance with ISO 9001 including managing the internal audit process and lead the management review with the goal to improve all aspects of the QMS. The Quality Manager will manage the ISO, ASME and Quality Planning Team by setting clear KPIs and objectives within realistic timescales and ensure the department complies legally with all regulations and meets its budget.

The Person

Applicants must be an experienced Quality Assurance Manager and Qualified Lead Auditor from within the nuclear manufacturing sector or their supply chain. It is essential that you have a sound understanding and practical experience of the implementation and maintenance of quality systems such as ISO 9001, 9004, 14001, 18001 and is very desirable you have experience of attaining / Maintaining API, RCCM, ASME N Stamp. We are looking for a team player who can work closely with Manufacturing Operations, Engineering and Projects with regard to driving continuous improvements within the quality systems. You must have strong leadership skills and be able to develop, appraise, coach and improve your team. It is also essential to have strong problem solving skills and be confident in communicating best practice and leading change. A track record in building effective relationships with key customers is a pre- requisite for this role as are strong communication and influencing skills. You must be a driver of teams with new ideas who can dig down into the supply chain and you must someone who can embrace change.
