Horizon Oil Sands
Horizon Oil Sands is an exciting part of our growth.  Full production capacity for Phase 1 is 110,000 bbl/d of fully upgraded, light, sweet synthetic crude oil.  We will see incremental production gains throughout the completion of future expansion and debottlenecking, with targeted full facility capacity of approximately 250,000 bbl/d.  Further phases of expansion will bring the ultimate capacity to 500,000 bbl/d.

Position Summary

THE OPPORTUNITY:
As part of the central QA team for the Horizon Oil Sands plant, the QA Lead will supervise a team to create and implement the required programs and procedures for work in the various Modular Yards with accountability for:
    o Facilitating and coordinating work
    o Interfacing between multiple mod yards and project teams
    o Ensuring statutory compliance of piping fabrication
    o Facilitating professional development by managing and mentoring your team
    o Flawless hand-over contributing to successful project completion

HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?
* Provide guidance and expertise in the utilization of various inspection technologies including responsible for acting as "Owners Inspector" regarding B31.1 31.3
* Performing internal and external compliance auditing
* Ensure database is maintained for all tracking of QA records and regulatory and technical records
* Resolve day to day QA issues
* Report all QA issues to management
* Promote quality awareness and continuous improvement to influence the overall success
* Assist contractors in achieving win - win outcomes

QUALIFICATIONS:
* Engineering Degree or Technologist Diploma in a related discipline
* Alberta In-Service Pressure Vessel Inspection certification is preferred
* CGSB NDT level II, CWB level II, API 570/510/653 and National Board Owner User commission certificates are preferred
* 15+ years QA experience; including supervision of contractors and QA staff
* 8+ years QA experience on piping fabrication
* Prior experience completing audits to ISO 19011 - recognized ISO 9000/10911/14001 training is an asset
* Strong understanding of written work documents, including engineered drawings, bill of materials and isometrics
