Quality Assurance Specialist Job in Tampa 33634, Florida US

GLOBAL FOOD MANUFACTURING COMPANY IS CURRENTLY SEEKING A QUALITY CONTROL SPECIALIST FOR A LARGE PROCESSING PLANT LOCATED IN CENTRAL FLORIDA. 

 

            Provides technical expertise to the Quality Control laboratory by independently evaluating flavoring products and incoming ingredients and interpreting complex QA test specifications.

            Identifies non-conformances, investigates, evaluates and provides solutions to non-conformances to the Quality, Operations, Planning and Purchasing departments

 

Core Responsibilities

 

            Identifies lots that do not meet specification and thoroughly investigates non-conformance.

            Oversees, updates and performs equipment calibrations and equipment maintenance per procedures and program.

            Solves complex problems by devising methods, providing technical solutions and modifying standard procedures to meet different conditions based on precedent and general scientific principles.

            Performs method development for specific products that includes validation of the method and collaboration with the RD Analytical group. Experiments with new methods and approaches.

            Represents the organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.

            Trains and mentors quality laboratory employees and acts as an information resource for other quality departments.

            Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate openly to a wide variety of departments within the organization.

            Previous success and experience with people development through performance evaluation, coaching and mentoring.

            Must have a proven track record in achieving results, driving change, thinking creatively and complex problem solving.

            Excellent record of meeting and exceeding customer expectations through individual performance and working collaboratively in a team environment

Requirement

4 year college degree in Chemistry, Biology, Analytical Chemistry, Microbiology, or Food Science or equivalent combination of education and experience.

            5 plus years experience in the same or similar role within a laboratory environment..
