Quality Assurance Technician IV (1443)
The Quality Assurance Technician will perform Quality Assurance activities as assigned to assure that the products produced are safe, wholesome and meet stated requirements.
- Monitor product attributes to assure product quality is at targeted levels
- Assure compliance to food safety, regulatory and company policies
- Support organizational culture change through facilitative leadership
- Assure compliance with all established safety procedures
- Monitor to assure conformance to plant and Quality Assurance procedures
- Trains current and new QC Techs on all responsibilities of the Quality Control Technician role
- Conducts monthly employee safety training as needed for the Quality Department
- Manages employee safety hazards log for the department
- Will assist the HACCP Coordinator, QA Manager, Plant Management and USDA
- Will manage the Nutritional Labeling Verification Program
- Will manage the labeling services, net weight program, product specifications, foreign material Incidents and KPI data for the facility
- Assist with quality and food safety investigations related to process failures, consumer complaints and customer complaints
- First responder to quality and food safety concerns in the facility and communicates such to the Q.A. Manager
- Leads pre-operational inspections, including managing the release of areas to the USDA and to the production staff
- Conducts regular internal audits in compliance with the SQF 2000 Level 3 code
Associates Degree in Business or related field required or related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience is required. A Batchelors degree is preferred.
- 2 to 4 years of meat industry experience
- Must have strong and effective verbal and written communication.
- Must have a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office software for department reporting and record keeping.
- Bilingual English and Spanish a plus.
- Must have a strong reasoning ability with the ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule
- Must be HAACP Certified
