Quality & Compliance Analyst, Finance recruitment
Reporting to the Director of Disbursement Services, the Quality and Compliance Analyst is responsible for monitoring compliance with University policies across disbursement areas: Procurement, Accounts Payable, Payroll, Credit Card, and Travel.
The successful candidate will have the opportunity to implement continuous auditing, reporting, and analytical tools and procedures in order to implement best practices and monitor compliance with University policies and applicable laws and regulations. The compliance analyst will analyze complex financial transaction data and will recommend policies, procedures, and system enhancements to effectively balance efficiency and risk. This position will work closely with internal finance and treasury departments and with a variety of campus stakeholders to develop tools and procedures for continuous improvement.
Principal Duties
- Assist the Director of Disbursement Services in developing and implementing a rigorous compliance monitoring program for disbursement services. Partner with campus stakeholders in compliance monitoring and enforcement efforts, and provide support on policy-related matters.
- Extract and analyze financial data and produce monitoring reports to help identify trends and other characteristics leading to recommendations for system enhancements and greater efficiencies and controls in business processes.
- Perform the routine and ongoing review of pre-payment and post-payment transactions to monitor policy compliance and address identified exceptions.
- Provide continuous feedback including report summaries/various metrics to the Financial Services leadership team to make decisions in order to improve systems, processes, and compliance mechanisms.
- Conduct research and keep current on key compliance issues affecting disbursements.
- Support ad-hoc and seasonal initiatives including the annual credit card certification process.
- Assist with the development of training and communication materials.
Position Requires:

- Excels at understanding and synthesizing financial data for communications and decision making.
- Proficient at developing SQL queries to extract and manipulate data; working knowledge or experience in the use of software tools and databases for data analysis and reporting.
- Self-starter and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively with teams.

- Strong communication skills: written, verbal, and presentation.
- Outstanding organizational, prioritization, and multi-tasking skills, working in a fast paced environment.
- 3+ years of related experience.
- Bachelor degree in accounting, finance, or business-related field required.
Preferred:
- Knowledge of University operations at Princeton, or an institution similar to Princeton, is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience with compliance and financial operations in disbursement processes is a plus.
- PeopleSoft Financials experience, preferably 8.4 and 9.1
- Advanced degree preferred.
