Quality Consultant

To provide clinical expertise, support and consultation to the OPMG Medical Group and KP Health Plan Operations as well as understand and identify excellent care across the health care continuum. Move the region toward becoming a highly reliable organization by identifying faulty systems and re-design them using lean, PDSA and other methodologies in collaboration with OPMG and KP Health Plan Operations. Organize and lead patient safety initiatives in contracted facilities in order to provide the safest care for all members of our community. Essential Functions: - Conduct peer review activities that include facilitating the QRM committee meetings, medical records review and analysis and conducting focused physician reviews. Maintaining and monitoring physician quality data and identifying trends in physician performance. - Provides consultation and support to OPMG, affiliates and clinical operations that includes standard of care, evidence based medicine, performance improvement, reliability and human factors. - Project manager for the Safety Action Teams and other performance improvement activities as assigned. - Implement patient safety projects in our contracted facilities as assigned. - Provide education and training on various quality and patient safety topics to OPMG and KP Health Plan Staff, including just in time training on performance improvement. Qualifications: Basic Qualifications: - Five+ years of clinical experience in healthcare - Bachelor's of Science in Nursing (BSN) - RN licensure for State of Ohio - Experience in quality, performance improvement or nurse legal consulting - Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, working with databases, statistical and data management skills, ability to analyze clinical situations - Excellent written and verbal communication skills with clarity and detail - Analytical conflict resolution and negotiation - Strong planning, organizing, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills Preferred Qualifications: - Current Certified Professional of Healthcare Quality (CPHQ) preferred.
