Quality Control Inspector Technician 2 Job in Athens 45701, Ohio Us
POSITION PURPOSE (1-2 sentences)
The Quality Inspector Technician II uses precision mechanical inspection tools to inspect highly diversified mechanical parts and components to very close tolerances.
CORE DUTIES (Must do functions)
1. Perform incoming, in-process, or finished fabricated parts or assemblies to verify quality and adherence to the technical specifications on a drawing.
2. Generate required inspection documents accurately.
3. Navigate and enter data proficiently and accurately using Microsoft Excel.
4. Generate Inspection Prints using the Inspection Expert Solid works programming.
5. First article process tasks including coordination with the shop and writing CMM and Roundness tester programs.
6. Maintaining CMM and Roundness tester programming, CMM accessories, as well as maintaining the inspection database.
7. Keeping the daily workload organized to utilize inspection resources efficiently.
8. Work with engineers when data is questionable or observing excess variation.
ROUTINE FUNCTIONS (Lower priority than core)
1. Attach or physically mark part identification numbers onto products or containers
2. Identify and target errors/variations to measurement processes.
REQUIRED EDUCATION (Be specific)
1. Minimum of associates degree in a technical discipline with courses in manufacturing or quality
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/CERTIFICATION
1. Experience in use of quality measurement equipment machine shop environment preferred.
2. Minimum of 5 years experience as a Quality Inspector
3. Minimum of 2 years experience operating a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)
REQUIRED SKILLS
1. Ability to read technical specifications, engineering drawings and descriptions as they relate to engineering designs, process flow, manufacturing techniques and quality standards.
2. Excellent knowledge of ASME Y14.5 and GD T
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
4. Familiarity with ISO-9001
